Most WordPress store locator plugins carry their whole product inside your site: their own database tables, their own settings screens, their own update schedule. Every core or theme update then becomes a chance for them to break, and every location you add makes your database heavier. StoreLo splits it the other way. Your locations, hours, filters and design live in the StoreLo dashboard; the map and search load from our servers; and the only thing on your WordPress site is a Locator ID.
That leaves you a genuine choice. The official StoreLo plugin gives you the familiar WordPress workflow: a [storelo] shortcode, a Gutenberg block, and one settings field. It stores exactly one value and creates no tables. Or skip it entirely and paste a single line of HTML into a Custom HTML block. Same locator, same dashboard, same result on the page.
Both routes load asynchronously from a CDN, so they add no PHP execution and no extra database queries to your front end. Your Core Web Vitals stay where they are. And because none of it is wired into your theme, the locator survives a redesign: change templates whenever you like and the map keeps working. The shortcode also renders inside Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder and WPBakery, so a page builder is not a blocker either.
You still decide how it looks. Colors, fonts, map style and markers are set in the dashboard, and custom CSS is there when you need to match an exact layout.
